Rhonda E. Harrison
Rhonda E. Harrison was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. At the age of
six, she began ballet training at the Raleigh School of Dance Arts, under
the tutelage of Walter Stroud. Rhonda continued to explore other areas
of dance, particularly Modern and Jazz, in the Wake County Public School
System. Wanting to pursue a career in dance, she enrolled in East
Carolina University, where after four years of study she received her
Bachelor of Science Degree in Dance Education. Upon graduation, Ms.
Harrison was offered a full time position with the Wake County Public
School System, where she worked for two years as a dance instructor.
In 1996, Rhonda became a salaried artist with the African-American Dance
Ensemble, under the artistic direction of Dr. Chuck Davis. During her
two years with the ensemble, Ms. Harrison traveled extensively throughout
the U.S., Russia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
Throughout her career, Rhonda has had the pleasure of working and
studying with a host of dancers and choreographers, including Dr. Kariamu
Welsh-Asante, Clay Taliaferro, Dr. Chuck Davis, and Ronald K. Brown.
